Your Instagram Bio Is Not Your Identity

I cannot tell you how many times I’ve changed my bio on Instagram.

It’s really hard for me to convey all that I do, love & who I am in 150 characters.

But I have sure tried.

I’ve agonized over it, changed it time and time again. I’ve wrestled with showing up as who I am in that space and wondering if it will attract the right people.

I have had to surrender this.

I’ve changed my mind about “who I am” more times than I can count. But in my wrestling, the Lord met me there.

He said, “You are fearfully & wonderfully made. I know you better than anyone or anything. I created you and you are worth more than 150 characters of space on an app that will not outlast Me.”

And you know what comes from that? Letting go of striving and ultimately… Peace.

Your Instagram bio is not your identity.

I hope it brings you peace too. You are worth way more than 150 characters of space that we try to find our identity in.

At least I did.
